MBBS: Management quota counselling from Monday

The counselling will be held in three sessions on Monday and Tuesday. The students with NEET score of 685 to 445 will appear on day one. Of the total 29,007 management quota applications, 25,651 applications were accepted.

All the top 10 rank holders under management quota are from other States, with the top five scoring an identical 685. In all, 12,653 State Board applicants, 9,664 CBSE/SSCE students, 668 students from ICSE/ISC board and 2,999 students from other States are eligible. There are 14,387 students from previous year under the management quota.

Sodam Sri Nandan Reddy topped the rank list in this category, while P Mahesh Anand from Bengaluru and Bahadur Singh came second and third. Three students under the management quota were disqualified as they did not obtain nativity certificates as mandated by the eligibility criteria.

After the issue on lack of seats for MBC category under the State quota was raised on Friday, the selection committee announced that candidates called for management quota should keep track of the seat vacancy position on the website before counselling. The notification said that candidates should opt only for the vacancies available at their turn.

With 508 seats being allotted on the last day of counselling, all the 3,968 MBBS seats in government and self-financing colleges under State quota have been filled. On last day of State quota counselling, 2,633 candidates were called of which only 909 candidates attended. There are 362 candidates in the waiting list, while 1,724 students were absent.

While 260 seats were allotted to candidates in government colleges, 186 students received seat in self-financing colleges. Forty-six candidates were granted seats in ESIC College in KK Nagar, 16 seats were allotted for BDS course in the government college, and no seats were allotted in the self-financing colleges.
