Duraimurugan alleges murder attempt on son

Duraimurugan made this shocking allegation while addressing a meeting chaired by former minister and Ambur constituency in-charge EV Velu.

Continuing his speech, the DMK treasurer fired a series of questions regarding the seizure of cash ahead of April 18 polls in Vellore constituency, “Who planted money in my house and sent for the I-T sleuths? Who provided a cell phone for a servant in my house? Who planned to murder my son with a lorry?”

However, even party officials were in the dark as to when the attempt to murder “incident” occurred. District presidium chairman Mohammed Saqhy said he was in the dark about this. Vellore DMK MLA P Karthikeyan also said he knew nothing and that Duraimurugan alone could shed light on the incident.

However, attempts to contact Duraimurugan proved futile as he didn’t pick his phone.

At one stage of his speech, the former minister broke down and said that though he knew who was behind all these ‘plots’ but would not reveal the person’s identity.

In veiled reply to the posers of NDA candidate AC Shanmugam, he said, “I fought and got a medical college for Vellore, dams at Andiappanur and Mordhana, Tiruvalluvar University and Cauvery water for the district. But an outsider demands to know what I have done for theconstituency.”
