Lawspet murder case resolved, 8 under arrest
The Lawspet police resolved the case in connection with the murder of a man here on August 2 by arresting the eight accused persons. The investigation revealed that the murder was due to the vengeance over the murder of another man a few days ago.

According to a police release on Sunday, the Lawspet police station received a complaint on August 2 from one Ramkumar of Jeevanandapruam stating that his brother Arumugham was murdered by a gang at 8.45 pm on August 2 at Kurinji Nagar here. Police registered the case and started investigation.
The police located the accused persons who were on a run to Tami Nadu and Puducherry, and separate traps were laid for them. On August 3, the police have arrested all the eight accused. The accused were identified as Ragu alias Mariappan (30), Vicky alias Vignesh (24), Arun (24), Akshai (24), Vellai alias Suresh Kumar (24), Santhosh Kumar (23), Sakthi alias Sathyamurty (22) and another Vicky alias Vignesh (22). The accused persons confessed of their crime and the blood stained cloth, mobile phones and some bikes were recovered from their possession, the statement said here. They also informed that the reason they murdered Arumugham was to take revenge on the murder of one Arun a few days back, the statement added.
