Schoolgirl dies of dengue in Pondy govt hospital
A 13-year-old school student died of dengue fever at the government general hospital here on Friday.

According to sources, Ramya (13) and her sister Kavya (18) were admitted to the government general hospital following Dengue fever.
Ramya died on Friday without responding to treatment and Kavyya is currently undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, social activist Vettrichelvan who gave blood to Ramya during treatment charged that an administrative lapse had led to the death of the girl.
He said her condition was serious even while he was giving blood and knowing that, the hospital management allegedly failed to refer the girl to a higher institution to save her life.
