Southern Rly to run special trains for Pongala fest

In view of the Pongala festival at Attukal Bhagavathy Temple here, Southern Railway (SR), in order to clear extra rush of passengers will run special trains, provide additional stoppages and augment extra coaches to trains on March 8 and 9 for the convenience of devotees from Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

A release from Thiruvananthapuram Divsion of SR on Wednesday said train number 16127 Chennai Egmore-Guruvayur Express will be provided with additional stoppage at Parassalarailway station.


Train number 16344 Madurai-Thiruvananthapuram Central Amritha Express will stop at Paravur, Kadakavur, Chirayinkeezh, Murukkampuhza and Thiruvananthapuram Pettahrailway stations.


Train number 16382 Kanniyakumari-Mumbai CSMT Jayanthi Janatha Express will stop at Balaramapuram and Nemam railway stations.


Train number 12695 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Superfast Express will stop at Paravur, Kadakavur, Chirayinkeezh, Murukkampuhza and Thiruvananthapuram Pettah railway stations.


Train number 12624 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Chennai Central Mail will stop at Chirayinkeezh, Kadakavur and Paravur stations. Train number 12696 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Chennai Central Superfast Express will stop at Chirayinkeezh, Kadakavur, Paravur and Mayyanad railway stations, the release said.


Train number 16724 Kollam-Chennai Egmore Ananthapuri Express will stop at all railway stations, including halt stations, in ThiruvananthapuramCentral-Nagercoil section.
