Noon meal woman worker, two daughters drown in Aliyar river

According to police, Kannamma, a noon meal worker in a government school in Singarampalayam from Kondampatty, had gone to her mother-in-law’s house at Indira Nagar in Anaimalai with her two daughters Santhiya (18) and Sathya (15) few days ago. While Santhiya was studying in Class 12, her sister was a Class 10 student.

“On Friday morning, the woman and her two daughters went to the river to take bath. Sathya, who went deep into the water, started drowning. On seeing her struggling for life, the mother and her elder daughter tried to rescue her, but all the three drowned,” police said.  

On receiving information from public, the Anaimalai police rushed to the spot and managed to retrieve the bodies of the woman and her two daughters after long hours of search. The bodies were then sent for a post-mortem at Pollachi Government Hospital. The Anaimalai police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
