DMK organising secretary and MP RS Bharathi on Thursday withdrew both his pleas in the Madras High Court, which sought for a direction to the DVAC to register FIRs on his complaint against Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in tenders relating to road maintenance project and laying of fiber-optic cables together worth over Rs 3,000 crore.

Special Public Prosecutor A Natarajan had submitted that in the plea relating to fiber-optic cables, the Centre had directed not to open the tender. Similarly, on the plea on tender for road maintenance, a complaint in this regard was offered on May 6 to DVAC. The e-tender was opened on June 1 to find that there were no participants at all. When that was the case, there remained no scope for malpractice and the case was closed, he said. Despite that Bharati moved the court on June 2 seeking a direction to register a FIR. With Justice Satish Kumar indicating that the pleas ought to be dismissed, the petitioner’ counsels withdrew them.
