Chennai
Chinnasamy has been accused of hiring contract killers to murder V Shankar, a schedule caste engineering student after marrying latter’s daughter Kausalya.
CPM state secretary K Balakrishnan said that in the murder case, caste was the main reason and no one could deny that the family of Kausalya hired the killer. He asked the government to review the public prosecutors functioning in the case and urged it to file an appeal against it.
MNM president Kamal Haasan said that he wondered who was responsible for the failure to prove the accusation against the A1. “Honour killings are a sign of the toxins that have permeated our society. It is the state’s duty to punish the guilty. Whose mistake was the failure to prove the charges against the A1 in the shocking murder case?” he wrote in a tweet.
