Ex-MP assaults cop in toll plaza for demanding e-pass
Former Member of Parliament from Dharmapuri constituency K Arjunan was caught on camera verbally abusing and kicking a policeman at a toll plaza on the Salem-Bengaluru National Highway near Karuppur in Salem, after he was asked to produce an e-pass, on Sunday night.

The former MP reportedly lost his cool after cops asked him to produce an e-pass when he was returning home in Alagapuram in Salem city from his farm in Omalur. The video of the incident has gone viral with Arjunan inviting backlash from the public on social media for his unruly behaviour. Even as the police officer asked the ex-MP to talk decently, Arjunan continued his tirade. At one point, Arjunan and the cop exchanged unparliamnetary words
Later, Arjunan alighted from his vehicle and pushed the cop, who in return slapped the former MP. The furious Arjunan also kicked the cop. The entire incident was witnessed by many onlookers with his supporters trying to pacify him. Arjunan then drove off in his vehicle.
Meanwhile Arjunan said that it was the police officer who dragged him into a quarrel unnecessarily despite telling that he was an ex-MP.
The former MP from Dharmapuri is a two time AIADMK MLA and represented Tharamangalam and Veerapandi constituencies in Salem district. He is currently a member of AIADMK.
