Reshuffle of 51 officers, Marine Enforcement Wing gets its 1st SP

In a massive rejig, the state Home Department transferred and promoted at least 51 police officers on Friday.

The shuffle saw the department posting first SP for the newly created Marine Enforcement Wing, besides Chennai getting new faces as deputy commissioners. SS Mageshwaran, SP, Thanjavur has been asked to assume charge as SP, Marine Enforcement Wing.

In Chennai city, ASP Deepa Sathyan has been promoted and posted as DCP of the Chennai city crime branch – II, replacing DCP K Rajendran. He has been posted as organised crime investigation unit SP replacing SP N Stephen Jesupatham, who is posted as SP, special division, a unit handling activities of religious fundamentalists.

Current special division SP S Aravind has been posted as superintendent of Tiruvannamalai district, SP V Vikraman is posted as deputy commissioner of police of Adyar police district and SP G Shashank Sai is transferred and posted as the DCP of Mylapore police district, replacing DCP Deshmukh Shekar, who will be the new SP at Thanjavur.

Madurai DCP E Karthik has been posted as DCP of Flower Bazaar and DCP D Ashok Kumar is posted as the DCP of Security Chennai Police unit. ASP DN Hari Kiran Prasad is promoted as DCP and posted at T Nagar. ASP G Jawahar is promoted as DCP and posted at Anna Nagar. SP Dr N Shreenatha is posted as SP, CB-CID – II in Chennai and ASP special investigation division of CB-CID P Ravi is promoted and posted as SP, CB-CID – III.

ASP N Kumar was promoted and posted as DCP, south traffic in the existing vacancy. SP Om Prakash Meena, Tirunelveli has been posted as SP, cybercrime wing in the DGP office, SP D Shanmugapriya is posted as Kancheepuram SP in the existing vacancy. DCP K Athiveerapandian, AIG welfare, is new DCP of Kilpauk.
