Dinesh is the only son of Prabhu (63), a farmer from Chinnathanda village in Lakkampatti near Kolathur in Salem, and Subathra (54), a homemaker. Villagers have been trooping to their house to laud the parents for the task executed by their son.
“I feel very happy. He has made my village and Tamil Nadu proud,” said Prabhu, who hails from a very humble family background.
“I struggled to educate my son. As our village did not have proper bus connectivity, my son stayed in a hostel during his school and college days. He believed working in the police force will reinforce his inherent nature of being honest. He had achieved it, too,” he said.
Subathra said that her son was unable to visit them frequently as he was playing a challenging role. “Even from his younger days, Dinesh used to accomplish challenging tasks. He had turned the attention of the entire nation now by killing a dreaded criminal. I feel elated when everyone praises him,” she said.
