Hundreds of villagers gathered in front of the office and protested against the State-run utility following a power cut on Saturday, charging that frequent power cuts were affecting normal life. According to local residents claimed that power supply often gets disrupted from morning till evening without any prior intimation almost every day. This came in the midst of restrictions due to the pandemic under which shops are allowed to remain open only till 2 pm, making it hard for the public, said the villagers. The officials from the utility visited the spot and explained that the supply was being disconnected as they have undertaken transformer fixing work that is under way.

They assured that the work would be completed within two days, after which there would not be any disruption. Based on the assurance, the agitators withdrew their protest and dispersed.
