RAW team takes note, Lokka’s LTTE links to be probed

Intensifying investigations into the mysterious death of suspected Sri Lankan underworld gangster Angoda Lokka, the CB-CID is also looking into the angle of the don’s possible nexus with the decimated LTTE.

Meanwhile, a team of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) gathered information from CB-CID sleuths in connection with the death of Lokka.

The CB-CID has already established that T Sivakami Sundari, the Madurai based lawyer’s father was an LTTE sympathiser. She arranged for the stay of Lokka and his paramour Amani Dhanji in Coimbatore through Dhyaneshwaran from Erode. “A probe is on to find out her cash transaction details and if she had received money from abroad. Her father was also booked by Madurai police,” said CB-CID IG K Shankar to reporters in Coimbatore on Thursday.

Also, the seven special teams have been gathering information on the illegal network of Lokka here. The IG said that the viscera of Angoda Lokka have been sent to a forensic science lab in Chennai for a DNA analysis to ascertain if the deceased was the actual don. The DNA report is likely to be ready in four days. Thereafter, a DNA matching exercise will be taken up.
