PMK seeks 20 per cent sub-quota for Vanniyars

“Vanniyars are the most backward among all the communities in the state. To ensure proper representation in government and education, 20 per cent internal reservation should be given to the community members,” the party said in one of the resolutions passed in the special virtual General Body meeting. The PMK had staged protests from 1980 to 1989 raising this demand. It also urged that all government jobs in Tamil Nadu should be given to Tamils only. “The number of persons seeking jobs have increased in the state while the number of persons entering service has decreased. Only if the government ensures jobs to youth from the State would confidence be infused in them,” said the PMK.
