Thanjai farmer electrocuted and field owner, 2 others held for hiding his body
Three persons were arrested on Monday for burying the body of a farmer, who was accidentally electrocuted when he touched the fence erected for wild boars and covering up his death in Thanjavur.

T Thiagarajan, 70, of Papanasam in Thanjavur erected an electric fence on his field and was checking the same on September 5. Ganesan, 48, another farmer from the same village accidently touched the live fence and was electrocuted. Shocked Thiagarajan sought the help of his neighbours R Ramachandran (45) and S Rajagopal (66) to cover it up. The trio first concealed the body in a sugarcane field. But later, they buried the body in a field owned by one of their neighbour Amaldas. Meanwhile, Ganesan’s relatives unable to trace him, approached the Kabisthalam police. Police found that the three farmers had buried the body of Ganesan and secured them. All the 3 reportedly confessed to the offence. On Monday, officials exhumed the body and handed it over to the family members after an on the spot post mortem.
