From a rustic Devanathanpatti near Periyakulam a government school student catches attention for his enviable performance in NEET.

Jeevithkumar son of Narayanamurthi, scored 664 out of 720 in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam. A mandate for medical admissions.

His father worked in a juice shop in Chennai but had to relocate to his village owing to the pandemic, he worked as a shepherd in the village.

Amid so much debate and protests, NEET exams were held in two phases, in September 13 and October 14. The results were published yesterday.

Jeevithkumar with his score is the top scorer among government students and he has also ranked in 1,823rd place in all of India. Seeing the potential in him, his teachers helped him join a NEET coaching centre and has reaped the dividends of his hardwork.
