Madras HC mulls on increasing medical quota for army men progeny

The Madras High Court observed that Tamil Nadu has the highest number of medical colleges, with seats augmented every year why not increase quota for the serving army men's children, the government was asked.
TN government challenged the 2018 ruling that favoured reservation quota for children of serving army men in addition to those of retired. This was heard by Justice Kirubakaran and Justice Pugalendhi.
Several questions were shooted at the government, like number of students with army background have joined for medicine from 2015 to 2020, whether reservation was growing with the number of seats and how many have been applied, of them how many were admitted.
The Bench sought answers from the government for those questions and adjourned the hearing to November 20.
