Speaking to the media after distributing bonus to members of Milk Producers Co-Operative Society, in Erode, the Minister said that the Chief Minister will soon make an announcement on the reopening. The decision is expected on Thursday, he added.
After earlier announcing that schools would be reopened on November 16, the State government decided to hold parent-teacher meetings to know their views but faced a lot of flak not only from the opposition but also from academicians. Stating that around 16,300 students have taken up NEET coaching this year, the Minister said that the 7.5 per cent horizontal reservation in medical admissions for students from government schools will be beneficial to 5.18 lakh students who have joined government schools this year.
