Haven't received a single penny as bribe : Anna University VC Surappa

Legal pressure mounts on Anna University's Vice Chancellor MK Surappa as Tamil Nadu Department of Higher Education has released a government order.

The order stated a single-member committee comprising retired Justice P Kalaiyarasan will examine the allegations levelled against Surappa as the inquiry officer.

Inquiry is based on the complaints of R Adhikesavan, A Suresh and Selladurai from 'Save Anna University.'

The prima-facie of these allegations were said to be serious in nature so the government has called for an inquiry.

Inquiry officer Kalaiyarasan is given the period of three months to submit his report.

Meanwhile, Surappa said he hasn't even received a penny as bribe.

Also he justified appointment of his daughter saying her presence was 'in the interests of the University.'

She was an IP specialist (Intellectual Property) at Indian Institute of Science, her services were required in Anna university so she worked here for six months in an honorary capacity, he added.
