247 active cases in Tamil Nadu, 104 in Chennai
Tamil Nadu reported 26 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, taking the number of infections so far in the State to 34,53,011.
CHENNAI: The active cases dropped to 247, with 104 active cases in Chennai, while 30 were reported in Chengalpattu.
The highest number of 12 cases were reported in Chennai, while six cases were recorded in Chengalpattu. As many as two cases each were reported in Salem and Tiruvallur, while Karur, Kancheepuram, Coimbatore and Thanjavur had one case each.
As many as 21,623 persons were tested in the State and the test positivity rate (TPR) in Tamil Nadu stood at 0.1 per cent. Chennai and Virudhunagar recorded a 0.4 per cent positivity rate.
The state recorded zero deaths and the toll so far remains at 38,025. A total of 37 more people recovered on Thursday, taking the total recoveries in the State to 34,14,739.
