100 bikes reduced to ashes in a fire accident at showroom in Karur

Karur town police registered a case and are investigating.

Tiruchy: Around 100 bikes worth Rs 1 crore were reduced to ashes in a sudden fire that broke out at a two-wheeler showroom in Karur on Saturday early hours.

It is said, the public found a thick blanket of smoke emanating at a two-wheeler showroom situated at Thirukampuliyur roundabout at Coimbatore bypass at around 11.30 pm on Friday and suddenly the fire broke out in the showroom.

Soon after the public passed the information to the owner, the Karur fire and rescue personnel rushed to the spot and started dousing the fire. After three hours, the rescue team doused the fire but as many as 80 bikes kept for service, and 20 new bikes were reduced to ashes.

Karur town police registered a case and are investigating.
