City holds highest active Covid count in State with 2,141 cases

TN’s test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 2.5% after 20,333 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. The highest TPR of 6.1% was reported in Coimbatore. Meanwhile, active cases in the State stood at 5,034. Highest was Chennai with 2,141 active cases.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 473 COVID-19 cases on Saturday. The total number of cases in the State reached 35,70,097. New cases in Chennai stood at 82, while 61 cases were recorded in Coimbatore. TN’s test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 2.5% after 20,333 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. The highest TPR of 6.1% was reported in Coimbatore. Meanwhile, active cases in the State stood at 5,034. Highest was Chennai with 2,141 active cases. A total of 495 more people recovered, and the total recoveries reached 35,27,027. With no more deaths due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the death toll stood at 38,036.
