CHENNAI: Revenue Minister KKSSR Ramachandran on Saturday said that the chief minister would decide on the demands to bifurcate eight districts in the state.

As Ramachandran pressed for the creation of a new Arani district bifurcating the Thiruvannamalai district, the minister said that like this member, there has been a demand to bifurcate eight districts by MPs and MLAs and they have given petitions in this regard to him and chief minister.

"They also sought bifurcation of RTO offices and taluks. The chief minister will take a decision based on the financial situation, " he said.
