The video, titled Da Da Ding, also features Indian sportswomen playing football and training. The stars include field hockey player Rani Rampal, footballer Jyoti Ann Burrett and surfer Ishita Malavia. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, whose father was a badminton player, also appears brandishing a racket. What makes the peppy video catchy is the fact that you feel an instant urge to get up and indulge in some form of sport or the other. The video went viral after Deepika posted it on her Facebook page. She wrote that sports helped her when she was struggling with depression. “I was sinking. I almost gave up. But it was the athlete in me that gave me the strength to fight and never ever give up!” wrote Deepika. The video comes just a month before India sends its largest-ever delegation to the Olympics, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro.
