There are problems that can exist from the mouth to the anus. It can cause problems to the oral cavity, including fungal infections. It is also known to affect the oesophagus, the symptoms for which include dysphagia and oesophageal burning. Patients with diabetes are also known to be affected by a disturbed motoric activity of alimentary tract as periodic diarrhoea. Besides, patients with Type II Diabetes significantly more frequently develop tumours of the liver, pancreas, oesophagus and large intestine. How do we know when to seek emergency medical care in case of foreign bodies in our child’s ear, nose or throat?
- Sujata P, a resident of Kilpauk
When your child gives a history of insertion of any object in the ear, nose or throat. Also, if you notice the presence of any foreign body, it will need immediate attention.
When your child suddenly chokes or expresses difficulty in breathing, it would imply the need for immediate attention. In case you as a parent notices some part of a toy missing from your child’s set of toys, it is better to look into it.
