    Chennai

I came to Chennai three years ago and started selling juices on the roadside. I hail from Thanjavur and came to the city in search of employment. My family – my mother, father and younger brother – stay in Thanjavur. I didn’t want to join his occupation, so I started my own juice trolley. I studied till Class 10 and then joined ITI. However, I did not like and quit the course after studying two years. I stay with my relatives in Chennai and I like the city very much. I had few health problems while adjusting to the city as I had to consume hotel food often. But now I have adapted to the city and I am very happy that I chose to come here. Though I am into selling juice now, I want to take up a job in machine servicing and maintenance. I do not want to go back to native and plan to settle here itself. I earn around Rs 1,000 every day and I am very happy with my work.
