Man stabs friend to death over argument
A 38-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend in Royapettah on Sunday evening after a drunken brawl. The deceased was identified as Nazar. The incident happened in Hyderali Khan street in Royapettah in front of the house of the suspect identified as Alisar.

Police said that the deceased was into repair of furniture. He was drinking with his friend which turned fatal. Though the accused was nabbed immediately, police are yet to ascertain the reason for the murder. After an argument broke out between the duo, Alisar reportedly went inside the house came back with kitchen knife and stabbed his friend multiple times killing him on the spot. After stabbing Nazar, Alisar went back to his house. “When we reached there, he was still there at home. He never tried to escape from the spot. We think a sudden provocation could be the reason behind the murder. He was in highly intoxicated condition and was not able answer to our question. He kept on saying that Nazar verbally abused him and he stabbed Nazar. We arrested him,” police said.
Nazar was living alone after he was separated from his wife, police said. His body was sent to Royapettah Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
