New COVID strain: Only 1 in 38 passengers from UK infected, but extreme precautions must be taken: Health Secy Radhakrishnan
He urged people to wear face shields and follow personal hygiene until the vaccine arrives.

In response to the new strain in coronavirus that has been found in European countries, Tamil Nadu health secretary Radhakrishnan inspected the Chennai international airport for precautionary measures.
Following the inspection, the Health Secretary addressed the press where he said, “Only one in 38 people who came from London via Delhi tested positive for COVID 19. The people who arrived Chennai via the British Airways cargo flight from London this morning have been tested and isolated. Blood samples have been taken and tests have been carried out on 15 people who were in contact with one Dinesh who tested positive for COVID 19. Details of all travelers from abroad are being tracked and all are being monitored.”
He urged people to wear face shields and follow personal hygiene until the vaccine arrives. About the mutation, he said, “This is not a new type of corona, but a transformation of the existing one. It can spread at high speeds. It can also affect young people.”
