NABARD sanctions Rs 1530.77 crore to UP for developing rural infrastructure
National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Uttar Pradesh Regional Office has sanctioned Rs 1530.77 crore loan assistance under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) to Uttar Pradesh towards Irrigation, rural roads and rural bridge projects in the current fiscal so far.

According to a NABARD statement on Tuesday, for Kanhar Irrigation Project in Sonebhadra district an amount of Rs 1038.29 crore has been sanctioned. This Project is expected to provide irrigation facilities in the most backward, tribal and drought prone areas of Duddhi and Robertsganj Tehsils of Sonebhadra district covering over 26,075 hectares of land.
In addition to it, 326 road projects having loan of Rs 262.45 crore, 45 bridges (Rs 104.17 crore), in various districts, a Flood Protection Project in Gorakhpur (Rs 23.17 crore) and rehabilitation of 5 Major Irrigation Pump Canal Machineries spanning 5 different districts (Rs 102.69 crore) have been sanctioned with funds availed from RIDF.
With this, NABARD has sanctioned Rs.23235.48 crore to UP cumulatively for over 21775 infrastructure projects over a period spanning more than 23 years.
