Airtel to deploy 12,000 mobile sites along with 3000 km OFC in TN
Bharti Airtel will make significant investments to expand its operations and network footprint across TN.

Airtel plans to roll out 12,000 new mobile sites across TN in FY 2018-19 to add large network capacity and take high speed data services deeper into rural areas.
This effectively translates to 32 new Airtel mobile sites going live every day across the state.
With this planned rollout, the number of Airtel’s mobile sites across the state will go up by 30% to 52,000.
Airtel also plans to rollout 3,000 km of fresh optic fiber across the state to take its fiber footprint to 17,000 km. Manoj Murali, CEO - Tamil Nadu & Kerala said, “As part of Project Leap, our network transformation initiative, we will continue to channel investments towards building a future ready network of the state. These investments underline our strong commitment to Tamil Nadu and will contribute to the Government’s vision of building a digitally enabled state.”
Airtel’s customer base in Tamil Nadu is over 23 million.
