ISP unveils 300 mbps plan in city
Hathway Cable and Datacom Ltd, a player in the fixed line broadband internet service, on Monday introduced its new offerings in the broadband and wired internet market with high speed connectivity of 300 MBPS with 2TB Data.

The company aims to disrupt the mass market with its competitive pricing options. With the consumption of OTT content (Netflix, Sun NXT, YuppTV etc), commerce and communication moving more into the online space, the need for high speed plus reliable services and unlimited data downloads has created demand for wireline fibre broadband as per prevailing global trends.
Rajan Gupta, MD, Hathway said, “WiFi is now considered the oxygen for digital homes. With demand for 4k OTT entertainment, online gaming and Internet of Things (IoT) application on rise, its necessary for us to provide ultra high speed connectivity to our consumers.” “Chennai is one of the fastest growing markets for Broadband and content consumption. Hathway offers service in 20 cities and cable TV service in 200 cities and towns, it added.
Earlier last week, Netflix had partnered with Hathway to offer video streaming services to the latter’s eight lakh subscribers. Under the alliance, Netflix will be offered through Hathway’s set-top box that includes a remote with a dedicated Netflix button to allow users to launch the service directly. Tony Zameczkowski, VP, Business Development for Netflix Asia, had said the company was excited to partner with Hathway Broadband in India.
