The suspense in the story revolves around SK’s profession: Nelson

Sivakarthikeyan on Monday took to his Twitter account to announce that his next film will be directed by Nelson of Kolamaavu Kokila fame. Titled Doctor, the film will see Sivakarthikeyan playing the lead under his home banner Sivakarthikeyan Productions for the first time alongwith KJR Studios. “Doctor is an action-comedy film that is set in the backdrop of Chennai. The film will be high on humour and action. It will be a thrilling ride that will keep the audience engrossed,” says Nelson. When asked about Sivakarthikeyan’s prep to play a doctor for the first time in his career, the director smiles and clarifies, “The story revolves around whether or not SK is a doctor and what his real profession is. However, the story will justify the title and you would know why we gave the title of doctor once you watch the film.”

Nelson says that the film initially started as an idea last year. “Around November 2018, Siva and I decided to work on a project and began working on the story in January this year. Then I narrated to him the story and he liked it.” After producing hit films like Kanaa and Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja, SK will play the lead for the first time under own banner. Nelson reveals, “Sivakarthikeyan, as a producer has backed good content and he wanted to produce this film ever since we agreed to team up. Anirudh has been signed on to compose the music for the film. Doctor will go on floors from December 6.” Actress Priyanka Arul Mohan will be making her debut in Tamil with this project.
