Vijay to finalise the director of his next in June

As Vijay 63 is on its final schedule, speculation about Vijay 64 has been doing the rounds in tinseltown for quite a few months now. There have been talks that Mohan Raja will direct Vijay 64, and his 65th and 66th film will be directed by Vetrimaaran and Shankar, respectively. Sources said that the actor is on a signing spree as he is all set to introduce his son to showbiz. The latest addition to the list of directors is Lokesh Kanagaraj, who directed Maanagaram and is currently working with Karthi on Kaidhi. Vijay’s spokesperson, told DT Next, “None of these are true. Vijay is currently focused on his 63rd with Atlee. He hasn’t listened to any scripts for his 64th film so far. However, a few directors will be narrating scripts to him next month and he will be finalising on one.” There were also speculations that Anirudh would be composing the music and either Samantha or Nayanthara would be playing the female lead, which was also denied.

Vijay 63 is a sports drama based on football and has Reba Monica John of Jarugandi fame playing one of the heroines. A leaked picture from the sets of the film shows the actress in a makeover which looks like she has survived an acid attack. Talking about the film to DTNext, Reba said, “Shooting for the film has been a great experience. I play a football player, for which we started practising a couple of months prior to the shoot. I can’t reveal anything more.”
