However, after almost a week’s shoot, the film got shelved due to various reasons. While reports suggest that the actor wasn’t happy with his prosthetic make-up, speculations were also that he opted out of the project citing financial differences with the makers.
Now, it looks like, the director of the film, Shankar is facing the heat as Lyca Productions has allegedly sent him a legal notice and has asked him to restart the project within a specific period of time. Sources say that Lyca is upset with the director as he has already started approaching other big production houses to kickstart a new project. “Shankar is already in talks with Prabhas and other leading actors to begin a new project. That might have provoked Lyca to send a legal notice. Moreover, the production house partnered with him to co-produce Vadivelu’s Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikesi, which is also in trouble,” says a source. However, when DT Next, contacted Lyca Productions to confirm on the same, their spokesperson said, “We didn’t send any legal notice as of now. But we have been meeting him on a regular basis to discuss the issues pertaining to Indian 2. There is no clarity yet on when the project will start again. If at all we send him a legal notice, we will release it officially. We don’t know from where these rumours come from.” Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan will be seen hosting Bigg Boss season 3, which will be aired from second week of June.
