Parthiban the latest addition to Ponniyin Selvan cast

After Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s confirmation in being a part of the magnum opus, actor Parthiban confirmed his participation in the film.

The actor took to Twitter on Sunday and posted his selfie with Mani Ratnam and wrote that he has been learning swimming lessons for the film. This makes us wonder what his character would be. Earlier, Parthiban had played a Chola king in Selvaraghavan’s Aayirathil Oruvan. To be produced by Lyca Productions in association with Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies banner, this magnum opus will have music by maestro AR Rahman. Amitabh Bachchan, Mohan Babu, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Anushka Shetty and Amala Paul’s names are also being considered. The official confirmation is expected to be made in the coming days. The film will go on floors in December and portions featuring Jayam Ravi and Karthi, who will be playing Raja Raja Cholan and Vanthiyathevan respectively, will be shot in huge sets in Chennai. The grapevine has it that Vijay Sethupathi too will be roped in to play a crucial role in the film.
