Mazhaiyil Nanaigiren’s story deals with mature love: Director

On the shooting schedule, he said, “We shot for the film for over 60 days in and around Chennai. There is not a single frame in the talkie portions that is shot outside the city. We shot a song in Aravalli Hills, which is the only portion that is shot outside the city. Other than that, we shot a major portion on East Coast Road and another song in Puducherry. The film will have the flavour of Chennai throughout its runtime.” Though Kollywood has witnessed several romantic stories, with 96 being the latest blockbuster, Suresh said, “The characterisations of Anson Paul and Reba Monica John will have a unique treatment. While romantic films usually have heroines as a prop, in Mazhayil Nanaigiren, the role of Reba will be lauded for its prominence and will be on a par with Anson Paul’s. I don’t want to compare her role with her previous films but, the portrayal of the character will be strong in this film.”

Divulging more on the post-production plans, the director said, “The dubbing of the film is underway, and Anson will dub for his portions while dubbing artiste Aishwarya will lend her voice for Reba. She has dubbed for her in Jarugandi and Bigil as well.”
