The film is bankrolled by the actress’ beau Vignesh Shivan under his banner Rowdy Pictures. Netrikann is also the title of Superstar Rajinikanth’s 1981 film directed by SP Muthuraman and produced by K Balachander under his banner Kavithalayaa Productions. Netrikann means the third eye.
The title, as shown in the posters, was written in English, as well as in Braille. Braille is the language of visually-impaired people. Nayanthara is speculated to play a visually-impaired person in the film.
Talking about Netrikann, Vignesh Shivan said, “We owe a lot to Superstar Rajinikanth sir, Late director K Balachander Sir and Mrs. Pushpa of Kavithalayaa Productions for giving us the title Netrikann.” Vignesh said that the film will be an engrossing watch for the audience.
“Milind has come up with an intriguing script. Like his previous film Aval, Netrikann too will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller,” he said and added that it is coincidental that it was Kavithalayaa that produced Nayanthara’s debut film Ayya.
Netrikann will have its music composed by Girish and Karthik Ganesh is operating the camera. The film has its dialogues by Naveen Sundaramuthy.
Apart from Netrikann, Nayanthara awaits the release of Bigil and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. The actress will resume shooting for her portions in Darbar from the first week of October.
