Vijay to play college professor in Thalapathy 64

This is the first time that the actor will be playing the role in a film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Gouri Kishan of 96 fame and Andrea Jeremiah have been roped in to play important roles.

Makers of Vijay 64 aka T64 had enthralled the actor’s fans with updates even before the release of Bigil. We had already reported that the Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial will have Vijay Sethupathi playing the villain and Malavika Mohanan the female lead. Apart from that Antony Varghese of Angamaly Diaries fame and Shanthnu Bhagyaraj too will play pivotal roles in the film. Exclusive updates we hear is that Vijay will be playing a never-seen-before role in his 64th project. A source from K’town told DTNext, “Vijay plays a college professor in the film, which is a crime thriller. The shooting for the project has moved into its second schedule and is being shot in Delhi. Gouri Kishan, who played the younger version of Trisha, will be seen playing a college student while Andrea Jeremiah plays Vijay’s colleague.”


Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is basking in the success of his recently-released Kaithi had initially approached Ajith to play the role. “As Ajith had allocated dates for H Vinoth’s project, Lokesh approached Vijay, who was impressed with the storyline and agreed to do the film.”


Produced by Xavier Britto of XB Film Creators, Thalapathy 64 is being made on a grand scale. The film, which has music by Anirudh Ravichander, will release in summer 2020.
