Revathi, Kamal reunite for Thalaivan... after 25 years
The makers of Thalaivan Irukkiran have roped in Revathi to act opposite Kamal Haasan in the film.

Afew days ago Kamal Haasan surprised everyone that his dream project Thalaivan Irukkiran was on cards and the makers had already begun finalising the technical crew. While there were reports that the film was the sequel to Kamal Haasan’s 1992 hit film, Thevar Magan, we hear from reliable sources that, the veteran actress Revathi has been approached to play a pivotal role in the film.
It is worth mentioning that Revathi had essayed the popular character Panchavarnam in Thevar Magan, and is still considered as one of the finests in her career. A source close to the team says, “Revathi will be seen playing Kamal Haasan’s wife in the film. However, her character will be slightly different from the one she portrayed in the original. An official announcement will be made by December once Kamal completes the second schedule of Indian 2.” Kamal and Revathi had earlier worked together in films like Oru Kaithiyin Diary, Punnagai Mannan and Magalir Mattum, which released in 1994.
Thalaivan Irukkiran will also talk about caste, education system,economics, and political theories. Four years ago, Kamal had approached Saif Ali Khan to play the villain in thefilm. However, things didn’t materialise, as the former was busy withother projects.
