During a recent media interaction, aggrieved journos asked him why he was avoiding the media, and that’s when he shared that he too is a victim of the dug-up cabling problem that is affecting ‘smart city’ residents. “Even when I was shooting in the jungle for one of my films, I had limited access to network. But when I got home to T Nagar, all the streets near my house have been dug up and the internet connection was disrupted. I could see orange coloured cables lying out in the open. When I asked the people working there, they said the cables are part of a new fibre-optic cable line that is being laid. That’s why I’ve not responded to your calls or your messages,” explained the actor. He quipped that if this is what having a ‘smart city’ means, he much preferred the not-so-smart times when net access was quite reliable!
