The director of the film Jagan Rajashekar told DT Next, “I have been receiving positive response from all quarters and it is encouraging ahead of the film’s release.”
He added that Godfather is a Chennai-based gangster film. “However, it is not another film that is based in north Chennai. More than the geography, it is the emotions that will resonate with the audience. Natty plays a common man named Adhiyaman and Lal plays a gangster named Marudhu Singam. It is about the cat-and-mouse game that happens between these two characters overnight,” said Jagan. He opened up saying that the film will keep the audience on the edge of the seat from the beginning.
“The first 20 minutes of the film will lay a solid platform for all the characters. The suspense unfolds and what happens when a common man faces a situation is what Godfather is all about. In short, it is based on the phrase, ‘survival of the fittest’,” the director revealed. Talking about the shooting schedules, he said, “We shot for the film completely in Chennai and wrapped it up in 34 days. Natty’s performance will be much spoken-about after the film’s release. Ananya plays the female lead in the film while Marimuthu plays another pivotal role.” Produced by First Clap Entertainment the movie is expected to hit the screens on February 14.
