Suriya-Vetri’s project revolves around jallikattu

Post the success ofAsuran, producer Kalaipuli S Thanu made a surprise announcement that Suriya and Vetri Maaran will collaborate for the first time, under his home banner V Creations. There were also reports that the shoot of the film will begin once Vetri Maaran completes his project with Soori.

Now, at a recent event in the city, the critically-acclaimed director has revealed the title of his film with Suriya. He said that the film has been titled Vaadi Vaasal and pre-production works are going in a brisk pace. Interestingly, we hear from reliable sources that this film, too, is based on a novel titled Vaadi Vaasal written by CS Chellappa. A source in the know of things says, “Vetri Maaran secured the rights of the literary novel titled Vaadi Vaasal back in 2017. The story will revolve around jallikattu, a popular sport played in Tamil Nadu.” The source adds, “Suriya will join the sets of the film only after completing his project with Hari. An official announcement regarding the cast and crew will be made in February.” GV Prakash, who had earlier worked with Vetri Maaran in many of his films, will be composing music for this project as well. Meanwhile, Suriya is waiting for the release of Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara.
