Vivek-Mervin’s recent single clocks over 2 million views

Talking about it, the composers said, “Till Orasaadha happened to us in 2018, we didn’t realise that the independent music scene is popular among our music lovers. However, Orasaadha went on to garner 150 million real time views. Since then we wanted to come up with one indie single every year. That was the inspiration for Gaandu Kannamma.” The video that also features Vivek-Mervin is a funny take on couples. “It is a romantic number with a humourous angle. There is also a couple that is featured in the song, and it is about the guy professing his love for her. The song has been directed by Amith Krishnan in Bangkok and has lyrics by Ku Karthik,” the duo said.

The duo’s latest movie album Pattas that had Dhanush in the lead also was a chartbuster. They say that at times they tend to disagree with each other. “We disagree but we don’t argue. We see that as a constructive criticism and we look to improvise with our feedback.

“When two of us work together, we get another perspective. We both decide on what is best for the song and go with it,” they said. Vivek-Mervin concluded that they are currently working on Karthi’s Sultan.
