Amala says Dhanush is not the reason for her divorce

However, now, after almost two years, Vijay’s father producer AL Azhagappan, in a video interview recently revealed that actor-producer Dhanush was the reason behind the divorce of Amala Paul and his son. He also went on to say that the Asuran star offered Amala Paul two films - Amma Kanakku and VIP 2, despite knowing that she had stopped signing films post wedding.

The producer’s statement caused a stir in the industry. Unperturbed by his comments, Amala Paul, in a recent interview clarified that Dhanush is not the reason behind her break-up with Vijay.She went on to say that its not fair to blame someone else for their divorce, as the decision was taken by herself. “Dhanush is my well-wisher and friend. Moreover, I don’t want to talk about my divorce which happened years ago,” she added.

On the professional front, Amala Paul is currently waiting for the release of a forest adventure flick, titled Adho Andha Parvai Pola. She has also signed to play the lead in the biopic of Bollywood actress Parveen Babi, directed by Mahesh Bhatt.
