In fact, the former’s son made his debut in Tamil with Dhanush’s recent flick, Asuran, which garnered rave reviews from both critics and the audience.
However, now it looks like all is not well between the two as the actor-politician has demanded a ban on Dhanush’s upcoming film, Karnan, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mari Selvaraj.
According to Karunas, Karnan is based on the caste-riots that happened in Kodiyankulam in the year 1991 and the film had apparently shown a particular caste in poor light. He also believes that if this film hits the screens released now, it will create unrest in the now-peaceful region.
The actor-politician had released a notice mentioning the same and had also submitted a leaked footage from the film where Dhanush was seen attacking a police station. Karunas says that this scene is against the law and order and could cause trouble just like it did in 1991. However, as of now, Dhanush hasn’t reacted to the ongoing controversy. When we tried reaching the director, he was not available for comment. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, the film also features Lal, Gouri Kishan, Rajisha Vijayan and Yogi Babu in important roles.
