SK’s Hero removed from OTT platforms
Upholding the plagiarism charge, Madras HC has stopped the film from being aired on television

Sivakarthikeyan’s Hero which released to positive response has been caught in litigation ever since its release. Directed by PS Mithran, the movie faced plagiarism charges. The Madras High Court passed a judgment, favouring Bosco Prabhu who had claimed that the makers of Hero had taken his story. The HC has ordered that the film should not be aired on television and it has been removed from OTT platforms also
According to the judgment, Bosco Prabhu is said to have registered his script titled Vetri on April 26, 2017 with the South Indian Writers’ Association. Last year, K Bhagyaraj, head of the Writer’s Association, had compared the synopsis of Bosco and Mithran’s scripts and had asked Hero’s producer, Kotapadi J Rajesh to pay a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the former.
The statement has left fans of Sivakarthikeyan disappointed. Produced by KJR Studios, Hero also had Action King Arjun play ing an important role while Bollywood star Abhay Deol was portrayed as the antagonist. The film also featured Kalyani Priyasarshan as the female lead, Robo Shankar, Ivana, Elango Kumaravel, and Azhagam Perumal in pivotal roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music for the film.
