But not many highlight how women police officers are working on the field during the lockdown. As a thankful note to the female police officers, composer C Sathya has come up with a music video called Corona Awareness Anthem. “Soon after the lockdown was announced, I composed a song titled Vizhithiru Thanithiru to spread positivity.

Deputy Commissioner of Police H Jayalakshmi watched the song and appreciated it. I thought why not do something for the women police in Tamil Nadu and suggested the idea to her. She liked the concept and asked me to go ahead. That’s how we did this video which throws light on the challenges faced by women police during the struggle against corona. We should thank all police forces but Chennai women police, who are extending their support day and night to protect people, is doing a commendable job,” says Sathya, who has also composed for many Tamil films.

The lyrics for the 4-minute song is written by rapper Inzamam ul Huq. Sathya says that after sharing the video on YouTube, Chennai Commissioner of Police AK Viswanathan called him and praised the effort of the entire team. “We hope that the video would bring a smile on the face of the police officers. A thank you video like this can boost the morale of the entire police force,” he adds.
