Despite the shoot being stalled and over 50 per cent of the film production still under way, the makers announced that the film will hit the screens for Pongal 2021. However, the buzz in tinseltown is that the film is undergoing various hurdles. A source said that Rajini has been asked to take a paycut of 30 per cent and the film might not release for Pongal as per plan. It is because Rajini has taken a decision of not joining the unit untill the pandemic phase ends.

When we contacted a source close to the Superstar, he said, “Nothing has been decided yet on Superstar’s remuneration for Annaatthe or the release. The producer will discuss with Rajini sir before the shoot begins and announcements will be made accordingly. A decision will be made soon.” Directed by Siruthai Siva, Annaatthe has an ensemble cast of Meena, Khushbu Sundar, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh and Prakash Raj. The music of the movie will be composed by D Imman.
