“My Telugu film Maitrivanam will be the first to hit the screens. The story revolves around two couples, trying to bring about a scientific evolution. I play the girlfriend of one of the heroes, who motivates him to reach his goal. I agreed to do it because when I gave the script a read, I realised that it wasn’t a typical conventional role. The character has a purpose and takes the story forward. Most filmmakers have stopped writing stereotypical female roles, which is an encouraging sign,” she tells DT Next.

The actress adds that her co-stars helped her get her Telugu speaking right. “Now I am learning both Telugu and Tamil and have been following a lot of south films to understand how they emote each words,” says Harshada with a smile. The actress will start shooting for her Tamil film with Srikanth post lockdown. “I had come down to Chennai before lockdown to listen to the narration. I can’t reveal much about it now and I am looking forward to starting the shoot of the yet-untitled project,” she concludes.
