“It can’t get any better. Singing in my ever favourite Rahman sir’s composition for my favourite actor Vikram is one of the best things that has happened to me. I have been following Vikram’s films since Anniyan and he is versatile,” the singer said. Talking about Thumbi Thullal, Nakul said that it is a wedding number.

“Rahman sir has given us an amazing song like Yaaro Yaarodi in Alaipayuthey. However, Thumbi Thullal will not be like any of the songs you have heard before. It has Malayalam lyrics as well and it was fun recordingit. We recorded the number before lockdown. Sir asked me to record a track from scratch and send it to him. A few days later, he asked me to sing the original track. That is when I told him that he had already asked me to record this previously. He hadn’t changed it and told me it was good. His appreciation is like winning an Oscar,” says Nakul Abhyankar.

Thumbi Thullal is also the first time he has crooned along with Shreya Ghoshal. “She is such a brilliant singer and her longevity is a proof of that. I am glad I got to sing with her for the number.” Produced by Lalit Kumar under the Seven Screen Studio banner and directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, Cobra will also feature Teejay, Anandraj, Mirnalini Ravi, KS Ravikumar, Babu Antony, Padmapriya and Mamukkoya in pivotal roles.
